This leadership course includes an assessment-based exam. Having this ANCC professional credential further validates the knowledge and skill within NCP’s consulting group to successfully guide organizations through all phases of the Magnet® recognition program.
November 14, 2013 – Nursing Consulting Partners, LLC (NCP) is proud to announce that a new consultant, Colleen O’Brien Smith, MSN, RN, NEA-BC has joined their team. As CNO of Middlesex Hospital in Connecticut for 16 years, she led the organization to achieve its initial Magnet designation in 2001 followed by two successful redesignations in 2005 and 2010. From 2007-2012 she served ANCC as a Magnet Program Appraiser.
A new study in the May issue of Medical Care, finds that in addition to Magnet Hospitals having a better nursing environment, promote excellence in nursing practice and provide high quality patient care, these hospitals of excellence increase revenue by more than an average of $1.2 Million, annually.

September 4, 2013 – Nursing Consulting Partners, LLC (NCP) is proud to announce that a new consultant, Maricarmen Luhrsen, MSN, RN, NE-BC has joined their team. Maricarmen has more than 15 years of nursing experience in the acute care setting and has spent the past 7 years in various leadership roles. She successfully led the design, implementation and sustainment efforts of an organization-wide interdisciplinary shared governance structure that was recognized as an exemplar in practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
June 23, 2014 – The American Academy of Nursing announced the 2014 nurse leaders to join fellowship because of their leadership in education, management, policy and work to improve the health of the nation. Criteria selection include evidence of significant contributions to nursing and health care and sponsorship by two current Academy fellows. New fellows will be eligible to use the credentials FAAN (fellow of the American Academy of Nursing) after their induction in October.
