Judy is a seasoned chief nursing executive with over 30 years experience in nursing leadership. Her dedication to the advancement of professional nursing practice, the development of practice models and fostering cultures that bring joy to nurses in practice is evidenced by her achievements in attaining system Magnet® designation and re-designation for a seven hospital system over nine campuses. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and was recognized for her regional and international contributions in the areas of patient safety and the development of new delivery models for nursing.
Her focus on life long learning began at Good Samaritan Hospital , Dayton, Ohio where she earned a nursing diploma, followed by an undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University, Springfield Ohio and a Masters in Business Administration from Xavier University and a Masters In Nursing from Indiana University Indiana, Pennsylvania. She is also a Johnson & Johnson Wharton Nursing Fellow and an IHI National Patient Safety Fellow.
Her experience in leadership positions spans not only nursing, but all clinical and many operational departments within a hospital setting. She also has experience as the Chief Operating Officer of a large Home Health Agency in mid-central Pennsylvania.
Her development of shared governance structures and the nurturing of nursing cultures that promote research and growth are recognized and. published nationally and internationally. She has been influential in the design of new hospital construction throughout her career culminating in the design, construction and development of a care delivery system for a 500+ bed hospital in northeastern Indiana. Her passion for the well-being of patients, nurses and all co-workers has been the hallmark of her career.
