Tim Mislan is a well accomplished Chief Nursing Officer with 30 plus years of experience leading nurses and leaders in healthcare settings to higher levels of engagement and performance. Tim has held a variety of nursing leadership roles in acute care, acute rehabilitation care, subacute care and long term care settings. He has mastered the art of leading and inspiring large groups of diversified healthcare professionals in complex settings which include both academic and community. He has successfully mentored multiple nursing leaders into Chief Nursing Officer roles over the last three decades. He served as the Chief Nursing Officer at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, a 500 bed community hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, as they achieved their initial Magnet designation in May 2016 and established a $3 million endowment for future nursing practice advancements. He most recently led two Phoenix hospitals through their third Magnet redesignations as well as led the development of a network wide nursing professional practice model.
Tim’s expertise is focused in leading complicated projects over extended periods of time, relationship building in matrix organizational structure, optimizing operations in challenging situations and visioning/strategy development. Noteworthy achievements include successful new business developments in neurology, oncology, rehabilitation, wound care, pain management, obstetrics, pediatrics and emergency services. He has served as the chief clinical officer for large and small scale healthcare building projects including the construction of a $13 million clinical learning institute which housed a new school of nursing on a hospital’s campus as well as the construction of multiple inpatient bed towers.
Tim holds a Master of Science Degree in Biochemistry (University of Alabama), a BSN (University of Oklahoma) and a BS Degree in Biology (Bowling Green State University). He is an accomplished leader in Lean and Six Sigma performance improvement methodology, Board Certified in Advanced Nursing Administration from ANCC, an active member of AONE and ANA and licensed in multiple states.
